MR. GEORGE FUND

The PTO makes funds available annually, to be used at the discretion of the Guidance Dept., to assist any student who does not have clothing or hygiene supplies necessary to attend school. Please contact your child's guidance counselor to take advantage of this confidential fund.
ASK YOUR CHILD ABOUT ADVISORY

Each month, your child will have one or two extended homeroom periods for "Advisory."  During this time, homeroom teachers follow a grade-appropriate curriculum focused on character development.  LCJSMS has identified six pillars of character for this curriculum:  Citizenship; Respect; Caring; Fairness; Trustworthiness; and Responsibility.

Part of what makes these meetings successful is the PTO's contribution of bagels and juice for all students.  Thank you to all the parents who have contributed to the PTO and support this important program!

On Friday, January 25th, the focus areas were follows. Be sure to ask your students what was discussed!
6th Grade:  Overcoming Stereotypes/No Name Calling Week (Respect pillar)
7th Grade:   Valentine's for Vets (Citizenship & Caring pillars)
8th Grade:  Don't Sweat the Small Stuff (Fairness & Responsibility pillars)

On Friday, February 8th, the focus areas will be as follows:
6th Grade:  Marshmallow Challenge (Respect & Caring pillars)
7th Grade:  Mix It Up Day (Trustworthiness & Respect pillars)
8th Grade:  Mix It Up Day (Fairness & Respect pillars)
